(Non Stampin Up! product)
So back in June I got married and myself and my Mum made all the
wedding stationary.
I wanted to share this with you and give you some ideas for your own
event.
The wedding was quite traditional but I wanted a modern edge to it as
well.
The stationary went through various prototypes as I kept changing my
mind.
In the end we went for a trifold square card with an embossed front to
give it a different look but we did this in pearlised powder so it was quite
iridescent.
When the card was opened the invitation was inside in the wedding
colours and I raised this up onto foam dimensions.
This was because I wanted to put behind all the extra information. I
have seen invitations with a pocket to hold the extra info but I took
inspiration from my Filofax and wanted tabs and wanted it to have a clean look
so though about putting it behind the main invitation.
This was also useful as the two other flaps for the card were smaller
so that they overlapped when closed so they were not full size to hold much
information.
We did the evening invitations with the same effect but did them almost
like postcards which saved a lot of time.
I also made this cute bunting cake topper. It was a bit of a last
thought as we had a cake emergency and had to get another supplier last minute
and hadn’t thought about the new tops.
Overall we had a great time making it all – took ages though. I
probably wouldn’t do such an intricate design again but as it was for my own
wedding I didn’t mind the time it took.
I am now doing my best friend’s wedding invitations with a beach
theme. This isn’t till next June so I won’t ruin it but will post on it then so
you can see what I did for her.
